Active Studio contains 3 major compontents.
Active Devoper is the main tool used on a PC to create the mobile application.  Active Developer has an easy to use WYSIWYG interface.	Active Pipe is the communications tool which allows the mobile device to connect to any database, read and write to spreadsheet or text files and much more.	Application Engine is the smart client that is loaded onto each mobile device and runs the application created by Active Developer.

Application development is done on the PC, the result is an xDoc (XML application) and this is downloaded to the PDA via Active Pipe.  Application Engine is then used to execute the xDoc which controls the client and contains the application.  Active Pipe acts as the middleware providing the means of sending and receiving data.
